Ed's passing thoughts

The greatest Sister anyone could ask for

Today (Tuesday, February 24th) my best friend growing up turns 40 years old.  Strange, when I think back to her it is of a blond girl with glasses and a toothy grin, but all along she has marched to her own tune.  I think my fear of Cookie Monster (that I finally got over when I was 43) stemmed from the fact that I thought he lived under her crib and would get her if she was left unprotected.

Looking back, even as a baby, she would have been able to handle herself, she has the strength and grace passed down from other ladies in the family (even if she doesn't always see or feel it).  Whether it was carrying her inside when she skinned her knee or scaring a possible fifth-grade suitor, it has been my great pleasure in being her big brother, offering protection even when not needed.

Her creativity inspires me to cultivate mine, her work ethic and loyalty I try and share, and her kindness and coolness know no bounds. We've shared so many memories and jokes over the years, and she's always been able to bring a smile to my face. I am humbled by her praise of me, and the greatest gift I could ever give her would be to let her see herself through my eyes. I love you Pam, and you know I always will.  Here's to more than forty more.
